'Focus' seems to me to be the most appropriate title for this watercolour that I made of show jumper Harrie Smolders and Uricas van de Kattevennen. It is a moment during the Paris Olympics (2024), photographed by Leanjo de Koster (Digishots).

I absolutely love the beautiful and powerful posture of the horse, the concentration of the rider and the beautiful light that reflects everywhere.

At the 2026 Art Collectors Choice Awards, this painting took second place in the category Realism or Impressionism – Landscape with Life.
