The forge in the Arnhem Open Air Museum is one of my favorite places there for many reasons. Wonderful to see how the blacksmith, Hans Sent (77), masters his craft, the sounds, the smell. What a wonderful game of indoor sunlight and the reflection of the blacksmith's fire. Hans, a volunteer for 23 years, still knows the forge as a boy, when it was still in full operation.
